About

Hi there and welcome to Quoteful! If you've found yourself pondering about the meaning of this site, then read the information we've laid out below to hopefully have your questions answered.

First and foremost... what is "Quoteful"?

The word » quoteful « is defined by the Oxford English Dictionary as...

What? You've never heard that word before? Well... that's because it's actually NOT a word from the OED. We made it up!

Before deciding on the name, we were looking for something that would encapsulate our vision for the page in the best way possible. Quoteful was going to be a magazine of sorts consisting exclusively of collections of quotes from various authors & on different topics. It was, hence, going to be full of quotes...

If something is full of beauty, we say that it is beautiful. If it is full of colors, we say that it is colorful. But what about our site?

Well... it didn't take much creativity from one of our team members to have an epiphany.

"QUOTEFUL!", they burst with excitement.

And thus, Quoteful was born.

So... Quoteful is a quotes site? What's the point of another quotes site? There's thousands of them out there...

To answer the first question: yes, we are a quotes site.

To answer your second question...

Well, that's a good point. It's true that there are many quotes sites out there. BrainyQuote, Goodreads, Shmoop, Quotery, WikiQuote to name a (notable) few.

But, Quoteful is different.

You see, the sites mentioned above and many others like them are essentially databases arranged by author, topic, keywords and so on. And, while that – admittedly – is a nice way of organizing large amounts of content, it is not exactly the best way to go with quotes. At least that's what we believe.

We believe that every single quote is a meaningful piece of art and should be treated as such.

Depending on the reader and the context in which it is presented, they can offer an invaluable perspective on the human condition.

At Quoteful, our goal is to present quotes in a meaningful context through articles that are unique, well-written and comprehensive.

Here you will not find lists of quotes that contain a certain keyword.

Here you will find quotes collected in the context of helping you build more powerful relationships, quotes by Mark Zuckerberg on business, quotes that will inspire you to have a wonderful year and so on. No rigid lists. No algorithms.

Every piece of content at Quoteful is written with the human in mind. That is what makes us different.

Who is behind Quoteful?

Currently, we are a group of friends who are in love with quotations.

Is all the content in Quoteful original?

We write original articles but also curate articles from other sites that we believe are well-written, worth reading and fit within our vision. All articles that are not written by us are credited at the bottom.
